Dora’s work is defined by collaborative research and international networking, involving close cooperation with a broad network of researchers, educators, and professionals from multiple countries. This interdisciplinary and cross-cultural collaboration strengthens both the scientific quality and practical relevance of the projects she integrates, supporting the development of evidence-informed practices with global reach and local impact.

Research

EuPEO – European Physical Education Observatory (2018-2021)

Assistant Researcher, with additional responsibilities as Operations Manager, contributing to the project’s operational coordination, activity management, liaison between international partners, and support of scientific implementation. This project was funded by the Erasmus+ Sport Programme.

PL4L – Physical Literacy for Life (2020-2021)

Assistant Researcher and Operations Manager, supporting the organization and delivery of the project, as well as the dissemination of scientific and educational outcomes. Like EuPEO, this project was funded by the Erasmus+ Sport Programme.

GoPE! – Global Physical Education Observatory (2023 – 2025)

Assistant Researcher, contributing to an international network dedicated to the study, monitoring, and development of physical education at a global level. Dora worked closely with the coordination team and country representatives from the african Countries of Portuguese language.

AquaPhyLit (2022 – )

Dora is the proposer and principal investigator of AquaPhyLit. The project is funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) through the proposer’s doctoral scholarship and aims to develop and test an innovative school-based educational programme that integrates aquatic physical literacy, water safety, and sustainability through Blue Physical Activity.
